Yard-O-Led "The Lucky" Limited Edition Pencil
A story of craftsmanship, history, and heroism, the Yard-O-Led "The Lucky" Limited Edition Pencil is a faithful recreation of an archival model, the Deco 34, first sold in 1930. This remarkable pencil pays tribute to Lt. Leslie March, whose original Deco 34 quite literally saved his life in 1942. Kept as a cherished family heirloom, the pencil was later donated to the Yard-O-Led museum by his stepbrother, Mr. Kelly, who, at 90 years old, still remembers Leslie as “my hero.”
Bringing this historical model back to life required Yard-O-Led to remake its original tooling, a testament to the brand’s dedication to traditional craftsmanship. The Deco 34 stands apart from any other writing instrument in the current collection, with its distinctive square body, intricate patterning, and rare ball clip. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted in Yard-O-Led’s Birmingham workshop using the very same machines that once produced Lt. March’s original pencil.
