Writing Instrument

"My mother has beautiful handwriting and likes to take all her notes by hand — I guess it runs in the family. I love my Graf von Faber-Castell fountain pens and would love to share their beauty with my mother. Blue has always been a favourite colour of hers, particularly when vibrant and lighter in shade, so the 'Gulf Blue' would be a perfect addition to her desk."
Paper

"My mother trained as a craft bookbinder (in London, where Before Breakfast are made, no less), so she would be sure to appreicate the beauty of Before Breakfast's Everyday Notes in a vibrant Ocean Blue and enjoy the fact that they're made only a few miles from where she trained. It's great to see a new generation update a traditional craft with a modern twist."
Ink

"Some years ago, I gave my mother the LAMY AL-Star in Turmaline along with a bottle of turquoise ink. It's a colour that I've always associated with my mother, and when I see this colour it immediately brings to mind her beautiful, neat, and unlike mine, consistent handwriting."
Other

"My Mother gave me my love of beautifully-made small objects (we share a fascination with and love of miniatures), but also my love of whimsy. When I first encountered this keyring in Vienna a number of years ago, I had to have it, and now I get to carry them at Laywine's! They are delightful, have a wonderful history, and I know that my mother would appreciate its beauty — in fact she often asks about the success of the Lucky Pig keyrings."
