Platinum #3776 Century Travia Fountain Pen
The Platinum #3776 Century Travia Fountain Pen represents the next chapter in Platinum’s pursuit of the ideal writing instrument. The name “Travia” combines Tradition and Via (Latin for “path”), reflecting the evolution of the #3776 lineage — a series that began in 1978 when Platinum collaborated with novelist and fountain pen collector Haruo Umeda to create Japan’s finest fountain pen. Named for the height of Mount Fuji, 3,776 metres, the model has become one of the most respected designs in modern Japanese fountain pens.
The Travia builds on the flat-top form introduced with the #3776 Century Decade, extending the design into a longer body format that incorporates metal components within the section and barrel. A central metal balancer shifts the pen’s centre of gravity closer to the fingertips, creating a stable writing balance suited to both precise characters and expressive strokes. The pen retains Platinum’s renowned Slip & Seal mechanism, preventing ink from drying out even after extended periods of non-use.
