The Platinum 3776 Century Tortoise Celluloid Fountain Pen is something of an anomaly in the current pen market: a genuine celluloid pen at a price that doesn't require a difficult conversation with yourself. Most celluloid pens still in production rely on old stock, command significant premiums, and are made in limited numbers — celluloid is slow to cure, expensive to produce, and unforgiving to work with. Platinum's solution is elegant: rather than turning the barrel from a rod, they wrap and seal a sheet of celluloid, leaving a seam that is discreet but visible on close inspection. The result is a pen with the warmth, depth, and gentle translucency that makes celluloid so covetable, at roughly half the price of comparable alternatives.
The tortoise pattern has that rich, mottled brown quality — amber and dark brown shifting across the barrel in a way no two pens replicate exactly. It's fitted with Platinum's 14k gold nib, smooth and well-tuned, and the slip-and-seal cap mechanism keeps the nib from drying out even if the pen is left uncapped for extended periods.

Free standard shipping via UPS on orders over $65. Rates for orders below this threshold are calculated at checkout.
Same-day delivery is available within 30km of 25 Bellair Street, Toronto, seven days a week — orders placed by 11am are delivered the same day; orders after 11am are delivered the following day. Flat fee of $14.95, applied automatically at checkout.
