Pilot Iroshizuku Ink Japanese Beautyberry (Murasaki-shikibu) 50ml takes its name from a shrub whose clusters of vivid violet berries are one of autumn's quiet surprises in Japan — and from Murasaki Shikibu, the 11th century author of The Tale of Genji, whose name the plant shares. The ink leans distinctly towards blue-violet rather than a traditional red-based purple: vivid and saturated in the body of a stroke, shading to a softer lavender where the ink thins out.
It's a purple with real presence on the page, but one that retains a certain elegance rather than tipping into garish. Like the rest of the Iroshizuku range it is consistent and well-behaved in the nib: good flow, clean starts, and no staining.

Same-day delivery is available within 30km of 25 Bellair Street, Toronto, seven days a week — orders placed by 11am are delivered the same day; orders after 11am are delivered the following day. Flat fee of $14.95, applied automatically at checkout.
