Carl Auböck Caned Letter Opener
The Carl Auböck Caned Letter Opener is a tapered solid brass blade with a hand-caned detail that adds warmth and texture to the metal. The caning is woven by artisans in Vienna using traditional techniques.
The brass is cast and finished by hand in the Auböck workshop, and it darkens to a patina with use. As each piece is made by hand, each one differs slightly, and small marks are part of the making.
Why we love it
"This product made my jaw drop the first time I saw it. The simple beauty of the shape and the intricate craft of the caning meld together into an article so close to perfection, and I have been in love ever since."
