Blackwing Volume 143 (Box of 12)
The Blackwing Volume 143 (Box of 12) is Blackwing's tribute to Frida Kahlo, and it's every bit as vibrant as the artist who inspired it. After a bus accident in 1925 left her bedridden at 18, Frida began painting what she could see: herself. Those self-portraits became the heart of her work, exploring identity, pain, and passion in bold colour. Each pencil carries a floral design inspired by her iconic imagery, and the model number 143 nods to the 143 paintings commonly attributed to her.
As a writing tool, it's a pleasure. The soft graphite core lays down rich, dark lines with very little pressure, which makes it a joy for sketching, journalling, and long writing sessions. Add the iconic refillable square eraser and the incense-cedar casing that Blackwing is known for, and you have a collectible that's just as satisfying to use as it is to display.
