Platinum Izumo Akatame Red Urushi Fountain Pen
The Platinum Izumo Akatame Red Urushi Fountain Pen is turned by hand from ebonite and then coated in many layers of urushi lacquer, polished to a deep, mirror-like shine. The red shows through the black lacquer in places, most clearly near the end of the cap and along the grip, so the pen looks a little different depending on the light.
It is fitted with Platinum’s 18k bi-colour gold President nib in Fine or Medium, and the cap screws on securely. The pen comes in a wooden box lined with green velvet, with a pen sleeve, a scroll of writing paper and a converter. Each Izumo pen is handmade in Izumo, Japan.
To see it in person, visit us at 25 Bellair in Yorkville, or book an appointment.

If a promotional discount code is applied to your order, the code takes effect and shipping is charged at the standard rate.
This does not apply to loyalty points redemptions, which can be used together with shipping discounts. See our Terms of Service for full details.
Oversized items
Some items incur an additional flat-rate shipping fee due to their dimensions. This is applied automatically at checkout.
