Blackwing Vol. 574 Pack of 12
For centuries, the Indigenous peoples of North America have preserved their histories and cultures through art. As westward colonial expansion displaced Native Americans, art became a vital vessel for safeguarding their heritage, capturing the essence of their daily lives through paintings, songs, stories, and dances.
Native American art embodies both beauty and function, serving as a bridge to Indigenous cultures and offering a profound perspective on history and identity. These works enrich society, providing a lens to view the world through Indigenous eyes.
The Blackwing 574 honours Native American art and the 574 federally recognized tribes that continue to assert agency and identity through creative expression. Designed in collaboration with Kaw, Osage, and Lakota artist Chris Pappan, the pencil features patterns inspired by geometric designs found in many Indigenous cultural expressions. Fitted with Blackwing’s firm graphite core, it is as purposeful as it is symbolic.
A portion of proceeds from the Blackwing 574 supports the Cheyenne River Youth Project, which offers enriching arts programs to Lakota youth on the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Reservation.
