The Correspondents' Club Terms

These terms apply to The Correspondents' Club (the "Club"), run by Laywine Projects Inc., trading as Laywine's ("we", "us"). They sit alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Joining
The Club is free to join. Create an account to start earning points. No spend is needed to belong. You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence. You may hold one account, and you may not transfer it or your points to anyone else.
2. Membership tiers
Everyone starts as a Visitor. Your spend moves you through the tiers over time.

Each tier also has non-shipping benefits, such as early access, complimentary services, events, and gifts, which are described on the Club page. Higher tiers include the benefits of the tiers below them. Member and Resident tiers are based on your spend over a rolling 12-month period, before taxes. Returned and refunded items and gift card purchases do not count towards your spend. Fellow status is by invitation only, at our discretion. If your spend falls below the threshold for your tier, you move down one tier at a time, to the tier immediately below. Benefits and thresholds may change, and we will show current details on the Club page.
3. Earning points
You earn 2 points for every $1 you spend before taxes and shipping, excluding gift card purchases. You can also earn points through other activities:

There is no limit to the number of points you can earn. Points have three statuses: approved (available to use), pending (being verified), and cancelled (will not be added, for example when an order is cancelled or fully refunded). If a referred friend's order is cancelled or returned, the referral points for it are removed from your account. If you return an item, the points earned on it may be removed.
4. Redeeming points
Log in, go to Your Standing, and exchange approved points for a reward:
- 500 points: $10 off
- 1,000 points: $25 off
- 2,000 points: 10% off
Each reward is issued as a voucher code. Copy the code and apply it at checkout. Vouchers apply to the order value, not to shipping. A voucher expires 3 months after it is issued. A voucher can be combined with other discounts where the terms of the other discount allow. Points have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and cannot be redeemed for cash.
5. Shipping benefits and discounts
Shipping benefits depend on your tier and your order total, after any points redemption is applied. Promotional discount codes cannot be combined with shipping discounts, including Club free standard shipping, free expedited shipping, and the same-day delivery discount. Points redemptions can be combined with shipping discounts. See section 4 of our Terms of Service and our Shipping Policy.
6. Anniversary and birthday rewards
Birthday. You receive a 10% off voucher for your birthday. It works like a points reward, so it can be used together with shipping discounts.
Anniversary. We may award bonus points on your membership anniversary, at our discretion.
7. Expiry
Points expire 12 months after they are earned. Vouchers expire 3 months after they are issued. We will email you 30 days before a voucher is due to expire.
8. Fair use
We may refuse, remove, or cancel points, rewards, or membership, and close an account, if we reasonably believe the Club has been misused, including through fraud, fake referrals, or abuse of promotions. This does not limit any rights you have under consumer protection law.
9. Changes to the Club
We may change, suspend, or end the Club, its tiers, rewards, or these terms. We will give reasonable notice of material changes, and you will have 90 days to use your points before any closure.
10. Leaving the Club
To leave the Club, contact us at scribble@laywines.com. Your points will be forfeited when your membership ends.
11. Privacy
We use your information to run the Club, track your points and spend, and communicate with you, as described in our Privacy Policy. The Club is operated using a third-party loyalty platform that processes this information on our behalf.
12. General
If these terms conflict with our Terms of Service on how discounts and shipping combine, the Terms of Service apply. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights in your place of residence.
