When the beloved Italian penmaker OMAS was no longer in 2016, many of the craftspeople who made OMAS pens wanted to continue manufacturing; unable to purchase the name, they commenced production as Scrittura Bolognese, or ‘Scribo.’
Handcrafted by skilled artisans in Bologna, each pen showcases meticulous attention to detail and exceptional quality. Many monuments tell the rich history of Bologna from the 11th and 12th century periods: the towers, the Valverde cistern, and the Neptune fountain are three important monuments located in different places but intertwined by history.
The Valverde cistern is a work of hydraulic engineering built in the 16th century to supply water to the city. The connection between the towers and the cistern, although indirect, is very significant; the towers, a symbol of wealth and power of the city, made the construction of the cistern possible and helped improve the lives of the citizens.
On the other hand, the Valverde cistern and the Neptune fountain are linked by a more direct connection. The cistern collected water from the Valverde area, which was then used to feed the Neptune Fountain.
