When the beloved Italian penmaker OMAS was no longer in 2016, many of the craftspeople who made OMAS pens wanted to continue manufacturing; unable to purchase the name, they commenced production as Scrittura Bolognese, or ‘Scribo.’

Via Orefici is one of the oldest and most important streets in Bologna and is located in the city's historical center, a few steps from Piazza Maggiore. Via Orefici was originally called 'Via degli Orefici' because this was where the goldsmiths' and jewellers workshops were located; the La Dotta Orefici fountain pen pays tribute to this historic centre with its rich, agate hues and ribbons of gold dust.
