Hobonichi Weeks, Shirt Fabric: Pocho, 2021

The Shirt Fabric series uses the same smooth, soft material as button-up shirts.

Painted polka dots from the watercolor artist Naomi Ito distinguish the Pocho cover. Uneven gold dots spread across a brilliant blue-dyed fabric—in Japanese the name “Pocho” illustrates the way each was individually “plopped” onto the background. There’s something calming about the pattern of the dots in this timeless design.
The cover has been constructed as a light hardcover book with some give to it so it still bends.
